On Tuesdays We Wear Black OTWWB based in Connecticut.  Kate Mollison. From estate planning and insurance to funeral planning and mental health, a curated list of needed resources all in one place. Personally recommended books on handling grief for adults, teens, and children. Tote bags, notebooks, coffee mugs…. even wine tumblers. The purpose of this blog and resource is to share the things I learned and encountered on my personal grief journey. My only hope is to share resources and things I wish had been available to me as I came across hurdles during my early grief. There are many resources out there that support the emotional component of grieving, both religious and otherwise affiliated. So when I began to search for help on topics, I quickly became frustrated because everything was “support” and not actual guidance. That’s not to say I didn’t utilize support groups and mental health resources, but I had tangible issues other than the emotional piece that I needed help with and struggled to easily find the information. It’s hard to comb through hours of internet searches with a limited supply of emotional bandwidth, so my hope is to do some of that leg work for you. If you found me, then you did it. You found step one. This is a place for resources, guidance, and a little tough love. If you’re anything like me, you hit the ground running, but don’t know which direction to run in. That’s why I’m here, to show you the way. Here, we’ll talk about the technical how-to of dealing with death from ground zero and all it encompasses. From navigating planning a funeral to signing up for survivor benefits, even to getting your own affairs in order, as well as dealing with support persons who are….less than supportive. You get it all, the raw, and the real (uncomfortable). I won’t sugarcoat it.  It won’t be pretty, and it won’t be easy, but together, we can make grief our bitch.
